Vajradhara

Vajradhara, whose name means “Diamond Holder,” is revered in Tibetan Buddhism as the primordial Buddha, the ultimate source of all enlightened manifestations. He represents the Dharmakaya, or the “truth body,” which is the pure, formless essence of Buddhahood beyond time and space. Vajradhara is considered the Tantric form of Shakyamuni Buddha, embodying the realization of enlightenment in its most profound and subtle aspect.

He is typically depicted in a deep, dark blue color, seated in meditation with his arms crossed over his chest. In his right hand, he holds a vajra (symbolizing skillful means and compassion), and in his left, a bell (representing wisdom and emptiness). This posture, known as the vajra-hum-kara mudra, signifies the inseparable union of method and wisdom.
