Jowo Rinpoche Shakyamuni Buddha

Jowo Rinpoche Shakyamuni Buddha is regarded as one of the most sacred and revered statues in Tibetan Buddhism. Believed to be blessed by Shakyamuni Buddha himself, this holy image represents the Buddha in his youthful form—shortly after attaining enlightenment. Housed in the Jokhang Temple in Lhasa, Tibet, the original statue is considered the spiritual nucleus of Tibetan Buddhist devotion.

This revered figure was said to be crafted during the Buddha’s own lifetime and later brought to Tibet by Princess Wencheng of the Tang Dynasty, symbolizing the merging of Indian and Chinese Buddhist traditions. The Jowo Rinpoche statue radiates divine serenity and embodies the enlightened essence of the historical Buddha, offering deep spiritual inspiration. Its peaceful expression, finely detailed carvings, and signature mudras (hand gestures) reflect profound teachings of compassion, inner peace, mindfulness, and the path to liberation from suffering.
