Vajradhara

Vajradhara, meaning “Diamond Holder,” is revered in Vajrayana Buddhism as the primordial Buddha and the ultimate embodiment of enlightenment, representing the Dharmakaya, the truth body beyond form and duality. Depicted in deep blue with a tranquil expression and arms crossed holding a vajra and bell, Vajradhara symbolizes the inseparable union of skillful means and wisdom. As the source of all tantric teachings, Vajradhara is considered the esoteric form of Shakyamuni Buddha and holds a central place in the Kagyu lineage, where he is believed to have directly transmitted sacred practices to Tilopa, initiating a continuous stream of transformative knowledge.
