Maitreya Buddha Statue | Future Buddha Copper Sculpture from Nepal

Illuminate the compassionate presence of Maitreya Buddha, the Buddha of the Future, with this sacred life-size statue handcrafted by a skilled Newari artisan from Patan, Nepal, a region renowned for preserving centuries-old Himalayan metalworking traditions. Crafted from high-quality copper and enriched with radiant 24K gold gilding and a gold-painted face, adorned with semi-precious stones, this Buddhist sculpture reflects refined artistry and profound spiritual symbolism. Maitreya Buddha is depicted seated gracefully upon an intricately detailed throne beneath a majestic parasol umbrella, symbolizing spiritual protection and royal dignity. The hands form the Dharmachakra Mudra, holding lotus flowers that rise elegantly beside the shoulders. The right lotus supports a Dharma Wheel, while the left lotus holds a sacred Kalasha (vase), representing wisdom, purity, and the continuity of the Buddha’s teachings. Adorned with a five-pointed crown representing the Five Dhyani Buddhas, this Nepalese Buddhist statue embodies hope, compassion, and the promise of future enlightenment, making it an ideal centerpiece for monasteries, Dharma centers, temples, meditation spaces, or sacred shrines.

Maitreya Buddha

Maitreya Buddha, honored as the “Future Buddha & Loving-Kindness Incarnate,” is a revered Bodhisattva in all major schools of Buddhism who embodies the boundless energy of Metta (loving-kindness). According to sacred tradition, Maitreya now resides in Tushita Heaven, completing the path to perfect enlightenment and patiently awaiting the destined time to appear on Earth as the next fully enlightened Buddha after Shakyamuni. Maitreya’s radiant golden form symbolizes the limitless potential for spiritual growth, inner joy, and the compassionate future that awaits all beings, while teachings associated with Maitreya inspire practitioners to cultivate goodwill, patience, and deep, heart-centered joy, nurturing the dawning of a golden age of Dharma. Devotees invoke Maitreya’s gentle, uplifting blessings through the profound mantra “Om Maitreya Maitreya Mahamaitreya Svaha” recited to awaken loving-kindness within, accelerate spiritual progress, and create the causes to be reborn in Maitreya’s enlightened presence.
