Description

Large-Size Maitreya Buddha Statue | 24K Gold Fire-Gilded Buddhist Sculpture

Crafted by master Newari artisans, this Maitreya Buddha statue is cast over a solid copper alloy and finished with lustrous gold fire-gilding, with every detail from the ornately jeweled crown to the flowing robes. The deity's face is hand-painted with gold mineral pigment, bearing the characteristic serene gaze that distinguishes Maitreya, the Prophesied Future Buddha. Buddha poses the Dharmachakra Mudra signaling the profound teachings he is destined to bring to the world. Seated upon a richly carved royal throne, feet resting upon a lotus pedestal, Maitreya embodies his unique readiness to descend from Tushita heaven and walk among humanity.

Framing the central figure is a breathtaking pierced halo alive with intricate floral scrollwork, coiling Makara serpents and finely sculpted miniature deities and celestial beings. A parasol crowns the composition while inlaid turquoise and coral stones accent the throne borders. Whether enshrined in a meditation space or displayed as a centerpiece, this Maitreya Buddha statue is a radiant expression of faith and the enduring promise of universal compassion.

About Maitreya Buddha

Maitreya Buddha, honored as the “Future Buddha & Loving-Kindness Incarnate,” is a revered Bodhisattva in all major schools of Buddhism who embodies the boundless energy of Metta (loving-kindness). Maitreya’s radiant golden form symbolizes the limitless potential for spiritual growth, inner joy, and the compassionate future that awaits all beings, while teachings associated with Maitreya inspire practitioners to cultivate goodwill, patience, and deep, heart-centered joy, nurturing the dawning of a golden age of Dharma. Devotees invoke Maitreya’s gentle, uplifting blessings through the profound mantra “Om Maitreya Maitreya Mahamaitreya Svaha” recited to awaken loving-kindness within, accelerate spiritual progress, and create the causes to be reborn in Maitreya’s enlightened presence.
