Manjushri

Manjushri, the Bodhisattva of Wisdom, is one of the most venerated figures in Mahayana Buddhism and is celebrated for embodying transcendent insight and clarity of mind. His name, derived from Sanskrit, means “Gentle Glory,” and he is often portrayed as a youthful figure wielding a flaming sword in his right hand to cut through ignorance, while his left hand holds a lotus bearing the Prajñāpāramitā Sutra, symbolizing the perfection of wisdom. Manjushri is deeply associated with the concept of prajñā, or profound understanding beyond conceptual thought, and he frequently appears in Buddhist texts such as the Lotus Sutra and the Vimalakīrti Sutra, engaging in philosophical dialogues that illuminate the nature of reality.
