Namgyalma – The Crowned Mother Buddha

Namgyalma, also known as the Victorious Crowned Mother Buddha, is a revered female bodhisattva and one of the three deities of longevity in Buddhist tradition. Depicted with three faces and eight arms, she embodies compassion, healing, and the power to overcome obstacles. Her middle face and eight arms are white, symbolizing the elimination of disasters and suffering. Adorned with a coronal crown and an eye on each side of her forehead, she radiates divine wisdom and protection.

According to the sutras, Namgyalma is portrayed as a 16-year-old maiden, with half of her hair braided and the rest flowing down, the tips extending past her elbows. Her face resembles sesame seeds, and her eyes are shaped like red lotus petals, exuding purity and grace. The yellow face on her left symbolizes benefit and longevity, while the blue face on her right represents the defeat of devils and negative forces.
