Traditional Green Tara Statue | Powerful Protector in Vajrayana Buddhism

This Green Tara Statue is a powerful spiritual symbol of compassion, healing, and fearless protection in Tibetan Buddhism. Devotees pray to Green Tara for protection from fear, for help in overcoming emotional or spiritual struggles, and for guidance through difficult life paths. Carefully hand-carved by a master artisan from Patan in Nepal, this sacred sculpture is created using the traditional lost wax method. The Green Tara statue is made from copper and is beautifully finished with 24k fire gold gilding. This ancient process uses a gold amalgam made of pure gold and mercury. It is applied to the surface and then fired in heat, which evaporates the mercury and leaves behind a bright and long-lasting layer of gold on the copper body. Green Tara is shown seated on a blooming lotus base in the posture of varada mudra, which is the gesture of generosity, open-hearted compassion, and blessings.

Please note: The statue in the photograph is the actual piece for sale, ensuring authenticity and exclusivity.

Green Tara

Green Tara is a revered goddess in Tibetan Buddhism, known as the embodiment of enlightened activity and swift compassion. She is often called the “Mother of Liberation” because she responds instantly to the cries of beings in need, offering protection from fear and guidance through obstacles. With her vibrant green color symbolizing vitality and active compassion, she is depicted seated with one leg extended—ready to step into action—and her right hand in the varada mudra, granting blessings and relief. In her left hand, she holds a blue lotus (utpala), representing purity and the power to overcome suffering. According to legend, Green Tara was born from a tear of Avalokiteśvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, and vowed to always be reborn in female form to help all beings. Her mantra, Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svaha, is widely chanted to invoke her presence and cultivate courage, wisdom, and loving-kindness.
