Bhaisajyaguru Medicine Buddha Statue | Fire Gold Gilded Copper Art

Medicine Buddha Statue is carefully hand-carved by a master artisan from Nepal who follows the ancient method called lost wax and brings every detail to life with precision and devotion. The statue shows Medicine Buddha seated on a lotus base as he holds a healing plant in his right hand and rests his left hand in a meditative gesture. Devotees pray to Medicine Buddha because they seek physical healing and mental clarity, and spiritual protection from suffering and disease.

Our Medicine Buddha statue is made from copper and is polished using a traditional mixture of mercury and twenty-four karat gold that forms a gold amalgam. It then goes through a special firing process that evaporates the mercury and leaves behind a strong and radiant layer of pure gold. This technique creates what is known as twenty-four karat fire-gilded copper.

Please note: The statue in the photograph is the actual piece for sale, ensuring authenticity and exclusivity.

Medicine Buddha: The Master of Healing

Medicine Buddha, known in Sanskrit as Bhaiṣajyaguru Vaidūryaprabha, is a revered figure in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism, embodying the healing power of enlightenment. His name translates to “Healing Master of Lapis Lazuli Radiance,” and he is often depicted with a deep blue body, symbolizing the purifying and restorative energy of lapis lazuli.

According to Buddhist texts, Medicine Buddha made twelve profound vows during his path as a bodhisattva, promising to cure physical and mental illnesses, eliminate ignorance, and guide beings toward spiritual awakening. He is said to reside in the Eastern Pure Land of Lapis Lazuli, a realm of radiant light and peace. In iconography, he is shown seated in meditation, holding a begging bowl filled with healing nectar in his left hand and a myrobalan plant—a potent medicinal herb—in his right.
