White Tara

White Tara, also known as Sitatara, is a revered female Buddha in Tibetan Buddhism who embodies compassion, healing, and longevity. She is considered the peaceful counterpart to Green Tara and is often invoked for protection from illness, obstacles, and premature death. Her radiant white color symbolizes purity, wisdom, and the serene clarity of enlightened awareness.

In iconography, White Tara is depicted seated in full lotus posture upon a blooming lotus and moon disc, representing her transcendence over worldly suffering. Her right hand is extended in the gesture of giving, while her left holds a blue lotus (utpala), signifying purity and spiritual awakening.
