Hayagriva

Hayagriva is a powerful wrathful deity in Tibetan Buddhism, known for his fierce compassion and protective energy. As a wrathful manifestation of Avalokiteshvara (Chenrezig), Hayagriva embodies the forceful aspect of enlightened wisdom that destroys ignorance, ego, and harmful obstacles on the path to enlightenment. Often depicted with a fiery expression, a horse’s head emerging from his crown, and wielding sacred weapons like the vajra-handled sword and pāśa (noose), Hayagriva is revered as a guardian against spiritual and physical threats. Devotees seek his blessings for inner strength, healing, and the ability to overcome deep-rooted negativities. In Buddhist iconography, Hayagriva is a symbol of unshakable protection, fierce determination, and the purifying power of enlightened rage.
