Rahula

Rahula, known in Tibetan as Kyabjug Chenpo, is a fierce Dharma protector in the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism who embodies the power to guard the Revealed Treasure teachings, also called Terma. Originally derived from the Indian eclipse deity Rahu, Rahula was transformed through Buddhist practice into a wrathful guardian who subdues cosmic and spiritual disturbances. He is depicted with a serpent-like lower body, nine stacked heads, and a face in his belly, which represents the original Rahula, who devoured the nine celestial planets. His body is covered with a thousand eyes, symbolizing omniscient vigilance, and his heads are crowned by a black raven, linking him to eclipses and celestial phenomena. Rahula wields a bow and arrow, a vajra, and a snake lasso, each representing his ability to cut through illusion, bind negativity, and protect the Dharma.
