Milarepa, Gampopa, Marpa

Three of the greatest masters of Tibetan Buddhism were Marpa the Translator, Milarepa the Yogin, and Gampopa the Physician. Marpa's journey to India to be trained by the famous siddhas and his passing on of such teachings became the very foundation upon which his disciple Milarepa, the celebrated poet-saint, sonneteer of groaning revelations, could build. Milarepa's discipleship Gampopa cemented the principles of the Kagyu school by harmonizing monastic discipline with yogic practice. These three are an embodiment of the passing on of wisdom, perseverance, and compassion through the generations and have become a source of inspiration to an innumerable amount of practitioners on the way to freedom.
