Vajrapani

Vajrapani, whose name means “Holder of the Vajra” or thunderbolt, is a powerful bodhisattva in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism who embodies the energy and strength of all Buddhas. As one of the earliest Dharmapalas (protectors of the Dharma), Vajrapani is often depicted in a wrathful form, brandishing a vajra to symbolize the indestructible force of enlightened wisdom that shatters ignorance and fear. He stands alongside Manjushri and Avalokiteshvara, representing the triad of wisdom, compassion, and power. Vajrapani is revered not only as a fierce guardian of Gautama Buddha but also as a spiritual ally who helps practitioners overcome inner and outer obstacles on the path to enlightenment. His mantra, Om Vajrapani Hum, is chanted to invoke courage, clarity, and protection.
