White Tara

White Tara, known as Sitatara in Sanskrit, is a revered female Buddha in Tibetan Buddhism who embodies compassion, healing, and longevity. She is often depicted as a serene figure seated in full lotus posture atop a blooming white lotus, symbolizing purity and transcendence. Her most distinctive feature is her seven eyes—three on her face, and one on each palm and sole—representing her vigilant awareness and ability to see the suffering of all beings across realms. White Tara’s radiant white color signifies spiritual purity and the power to heal both physical and emotional afflictions. Practitioners invoke her through the mantra Om Tare Tuttare Ture Mama Ayuh Punya Jñana Pustim Kuru Svaha, which is believed to promote long life, wisdom, and merit.
