Tsheringma

Tsheringma, the chief of the Five Long-Life Sisters, is a revered mountain goddess and Dharma protector in Tibetan Buddhism who embodies longevity, vitality, and spiritual resilience. Originally a dakini dwelling in the Himalayas, she and her sisters were transformed by Guru Padmasambhava into compassionate guardians of the Buddhist teachings, after being subdued from their fierce mountain spirit forms. Tsheringma is often depicted riding a white snow lion, holding a vase of longevity and a vajra, which symbolize her power to bestow health, protection, and spiritual blessings. She is deeply connected to sacred peaks like Mount Gaurishankar, and her presence is invoked by travelers, yogis, and householders seeking guidance, clarity, and success in spiritual practice.
