Description

Spiritual Protector Vajrapani Statue | Lost Wax Casted Copper Sculpture

Handcrafted by skilled Newari artisans from Nepal using the lost-wax technique, this Vajrapani statue is cast from copper and finished in radiant 24k gold fire-gilding that catches light with a commanding brilliance. The wrathful face draws you in immediately with wide eyes burning with focus and a crown of wild flaming hair intertwined with serpents that rises above the richly gold-painted face. The body lunges forward in a bold dancing stance with one arm raised high gripping a vajra thunderbolt and the other extending outward with a lasso, both weapons speaking directly to Vajrapani's role as the one who subdues negativity and holds practitioners firmly on the spiritual path. Semi-precious inlays bring warmth and color to the ornate jewelry and robes carved with fluid precision around the powerful golden form, while coiling serpents curl at his feet atop an elaborately decorated lotus seat. Surrounded by a hand-painted flame halo, this statue brings a genuine sense of protection and sacred energy into any meditation space or home environment.

About Vajrapani

Vajrapani, whose name means “Holder of the Thunderbolt,” is one of the earliest and most powerful bodhisattvas in Mahayana Buddhism. He represents the spiritual strength and protective power of all Buddhas, standing alongside Avalokiteśvara and Mañjuśrī (wisdom) as part of a sacred triad. Vajrapāṇi is often depicted in a wrathful form, with a muscular body, fierce expression, and surrounded by flames, symbolizing his ability to destroy ignorance and obstacles on the path to enlightenment. He is also known as the “Lord of Secrets” for his role in transmitting tantric teachings to humanity. His mantra, Om Vajrapāṇi Hūṃ Phaṭ, is chanted to invoke courage and cultivate inner strength.
