Vajrasattva (Sanskrit: Vajrasattva, Tibetan: Dorje Sempa)

Vajrasattva is a deeply venerated figure in Vajrayana Buddhism, revered as the Bodhisattva of Purification. He embodies the innate purity of the awakened mind—clear, luminous, and untouched by karmic defilements. Vajrasattva represents the indestructible essence of wisdom and compassion that resides within all beings, regardless of their past actions. In Buddhist practice, Vajrasattva is invoked to purify negative karma, dissolve emotional and mental obscurations, and restore clarity and balance to the mind. His presence is essential in preparatory practices, helping practitioners cleanse their inner world and create the conditions necessary for deeper meditation, transformation, and spiritual realization. The deity is depicted in a classic meditative pose on a lotus base, holding a vajra (dorje) in his right hand and a bell in his left, symbolizing the union of compassion and wisdom.
