Shakyamuni Buddha

Shakyamuni Buddha, originally known as Siddhartha Gautama, was born as the crown prince of the Shakya Kingdom, living a life of royal luxury and protection. At the age of 29, Shakyamuni Buddha witnessed the harsh realities of life—aging, sickness, and death—which deeply shook him and sparked a powerful spiritual calling. Determined to understand the root of suffering and discover a path to liberation, Shakyamuni renounced his palace, riches, and princely status to begin a transformative spiritual quest. For over six years, he practiced strict asceticism, deep meditation, and profound contemplation, ultimately attaining enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. At that sacred moment, Siddhartha became the Awakened One—Shakyamuni Buddha, embodying boundless wisdom and compassion.
