About White Tara

Goddess White Tara is a revered deity in Tibetan Buddhism, the embodiment of compassion, healing, and longevity. She is often depicted with seven eyes, symbolizing her ability to see the suffering of all beings and offer protection through her omnipresent compassion. White Tara is believed to have been born from the tears of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, and she is particularly associated with healing and bestowing long life. Her imagery includes sitting in the lotus position with a serene expression, adorned in regal jewelry and a tiara, often holding a lotus flower. Her hand gestures (mudras) represent blessing, protection, and the granting of longevity. White Tara plays a significant role in practices aimed at overcoming obstacles and illness, making her an important figure in Tibetan spiritual traditions.
