Deities of Longevity in Extended Lifespan

Amitayus, one of the forms of Amitabha Buddha, is the Buddha of Infinite Life. Sometimes He is portrayed in a meditative posture, holding a vase of amrita-the nectar for immortality-with the various symbols for long life and wisdom. Followers pray for Amitayus' blessings to increase human life, purify negative karma, and reach spiritual liberation.

White Tara is a serene female bodhisattva associated with healing and longevity. She has four additional eyes (two on her palms, two on the soles of her feet, and one on her forehead) that symbolize her omnipresent ability to see and save beings from suffering. Her blessings eliminate hindrances to long life while enhancing one's physical and spiritual well-being.

Namgyalma, a three-faced, eight-armed deity, is known to purify karma, remove disease, and grant the longevity of life. Namgyalma is worshipped primarily for the removal of hindrances to long life and granting divine protection. As per the practitioners, mantra chanting of Namgyalma along with deity visualisation can avert untimely death and restore the life energy lost.
