Amitābha Buddha

Amitābha Buddha, also known as the Buddha of Infinite Light, is a central figure in Mahayana Buddhism, particularly in Pure Land traditions. According to scriptures like the Infinite Life Sutra, Amitābha was once a monk named Dharmākara who made 48 vows to create a heavenly realm called Sukhāvatī, or the Western Pure Land, where beings could be reborn and attain enlightenment free from the suffering of the earthly world. His most famous vow promises that anyone who sincerely calls upon his name with faith and devotion will be welcomed into this Pure Land after death.
