Nepalese Amitabha Buddha Statue | Symbol of Infinite Light & Wisdom

Our exquisitely handcrafted Amitabha Buddha Statue represents infinite light and compassion and is skillfully carved by a master artisan from Nepal who follows the ancient lost wax casting method.  Devotees pray to Amitabha Buddha because they seek rebirth in the Western Pure Land, which is a peaceful realm where enlightenment can be attained with ease. The statue is made from high-quality copper and features a hollow inner chamber, which allows practitioners to perform consecration by placing sacred mantras or relics inside to enhance its spiritual significance.

Amitabha Buddha is shown seated in deep meditation on a blooming lotus throne and is gently holding a monk’s alms bowl, which symbolizes renunciation, simplicity, and the nurturing of spiritual wisdom. The surface of the statue is polished with a gold amalgam, which is formed by mixing pure 24k gold with mercury and applying it carefully to the copper body. After this, the statue is placed in a high-heat firing process that evaporates the mercury and leaves behind a strong and radiant layer of real gold, which is known as 24k fire gold gilding.

Please note: The statue in the photograph is the actual piece for sale, ensuring authenticity and exclusivity.

Amitabha Buddha

Amitabha Buddha, known as the Buddha of Infinite Light and Infinite Life, is one of the most venerated figures in Mahayana Buddhism, especially within the Pure Land tradition. His name derives from Sanskrit Amitābha, meaning “Limitless Light,” and Amitāyus, meaning “Limitless Life” which symbolizes his boundless compassion and wisdom. According to legend, Amitabha was once a monk named Dharmakara who made 48 profound vows, including the promise that anyone who sincerely calls upon his name would be reborn in his Pure Land, Sukhāvatī, a realm of bliss and enlightenment free from suffering and rebirth.
