Description

The Majestic 1000-Armed Chenrezig Statue: Embodiment of Compassion

Born from the boundless vow of compassion, the 1000-Armed Chenrezig Statue stands as a profound expression of awakened mercy. Handcrafted from copper through the ancient lost wax method, this sacred form is further refined with 3D carving that brings extraordinary depth and life to every detail. Layers of gold fire-gilding illuminate the sculpture with a radiant spiritual glow, while semi-precious stones and finely hand-chased repoussé work enhance its divine ornamentation. Standing gracefully on a lotus seat upon an ornate throne, Chenrezig radiates serene power, embodying the limitless compassion that guides all beings toward liberation.

According to Buddhist tradition, Chenrezig vowed not to rest until every sentient being was freed from suffering. Witnessing the immeasurable pain of the world, his compassionate resolve became so immense that his form shattered under the weight of sorrow. Amitabha Buddha then restored him into a more powerful manifestation, granting him eleven heads arranged in ascending tiers above the serene central face, crowned by Amitabha himself and a thousand arms to reach into all realms of existence. Each palm bears an eye symbolizing awareness, while his primary hands unite at heart holding a wish-fulfilling jewel representing bodhicitta. Surrounding arms carry sacred attributes including the lotus, prayer beads, vase, dharma wheel, and bow and arrow, each reflecting a unique aspect of enlightened activity and compassionate action.

About Thousand-Armed Chenrezig

He is often depicted as a majestic figure with one thousand arms and eleven heads, symbolizing his limitless ability to perceive the suffering of countless beings and extend help in every direction. According to Buddhist tradition, Chenrezig manifested these many arms and heads after making a vow to liberate all sentient beings, representing the infinite reach of enlightened compassion and wisdom. Practitioners invoke the Thousand-Armed Chenrezig mantra: "Om Mani Padme Hum", to cultivate compassion, purify negative karma, and develop the altruistic aspiration to benefit all living beings.
