This Shakyamuni Buddha statue begins with the ancient art of lost wax casting, a technique where a wax model is sculpted by hand and melted away to leave a precise mold behind. It is a slow process and it shows: every fold of the robe, every curve of the face with quiet exactness. The statue's solid copper alloy is hand-carved and polished to a fine finish, then elevated through gold fire-gilding, where a 24K gold–mercury amalgam is heated until it bonds permanently to the metal beneath. The result is a luminous gold surface with a richness no plating can match. Across the robe and halo, artisans have hand-chased intricate motifs and floral patterns using repoussé and filigree work, giving the piece a textured glow.

Standing 30 inches tall and weighing 23.20 kg, this is an exceptionally large and rare piece, available exclusively through Nidhiratna. It depicts Siddhartha Gautama, the Shakyamuni Buddha seated in serene stillness beneath an ornate halo. He rests upon a lotus pedestal inscribed with the mantra "Om Muni Muni Mahamuni Shakyamuni Svaha" his right hand lowered in the earth-touching gesture marking his enlightenment and his left resting open in his lap holding a begging bowl. His Sanghati robe is finished with inlaid turquoise and coral, adding subtle color against the gold.
