- Display with Care: Preserve your statue in a glass cabinet to protect it from dust, moisture, and accidental damage.
- Dusting: Use a soft, clean cotton cloth to gently wipe away dust. Avoid using rough or abrasive materials.
- Minimize Handling: Avoid touching gold-plated statues frequently, as natural oils from your skin can accelerate tarnishing.
- Do Not Scrub: Never use steel wool, metal-bristled brushes, or scrubbing pads. These can scratch and damage delicate surfaces.

Fasting Buddha: A Symbol of Spiritual Endurance and Enlightenment
The Fasting Buddha, also known as the Emaciated Buddha, is a profound representation of Buddha Shakyamuni’s extreme ascetic journey prior to attaining enlightenment. This depiction captures a pivotal phase in his spiritual quest when he engaged in rigorous fasting and self-mortification, believing that denying the body’s needs would lead to awakening.
Seated in deep meditation, the Fasting Buddha statue showcases an emaciated body with visible ribs, sunken cheeks, and a serene yet determined expression. This powerful image symbolizes self-discipline, renunciation, and perseverance, serving as a reminder to practitioners about the importance of balance on the path to enlightenment.
Ultimately, the Fasting Buddha realized that true awakening could not be achieved through extreme austerity but through the Middle Way—a path of moderation between self-indulgence and self-denial. The Fasting Buddha statue stands as an inspiring spiritual symbol, perfect for meditation, rituals, and Buddhist practice, embodying the essence of sacrifice, wisdom, and enlightenment.
