- Dusting: Use a soft, clean cotton cloth to gently wipe away dust. Avoid using rough or abrasive materials.
- Minimize Handling: Avoid touching gold-plated statues frequently, as natural oils from your skin can accelerate tarnishing.
- Do Not Scrub: Never use steel wool, metal-bristled brushes, or scrubbing pads. These can scratch and damage delicate surfaces.

Guru Rinpoche
Guru Rinpoche, also known as Padmasambhava or the Lotus-born, is a revered figure in Tibetan Buddhism, credited with establishing Buddhism on the Tibetan plateau during the 8th century. Born in Oddiyana, he is said to have emerged from a lotus flower, hence the name Padmasambhava, which translates to "Born from a Lotus." Considered a Second Buddha in Vajrayana Buddhism, Guru Rinpoche embodies the essence of compassion and wisdom. He is known for his profound teachings and practices, including the transmission of Tantric Buddhism teachings and the compilation of the Rinchen Terdzod. The legacy of this dharma king and spiritual guide continues to inspire countless practitioners, particularly in Sikkim and other regions of the Himalayan sacred landscape. Sikkim, nestled in the shadow of Mount Kanchendzonga, is home to numerous sacred sites associated with Guru Rinpoche, making it a popular destination for pilgrimage. The state's deep connection to the Lotus-born master is evident in the many monasteries and temples dedicated to him, where devotees seek to accumulate merit through their patronage and spiritual practice.
Guru Rinpoche is also associated with the concept of terma, which refers to hidden treasures of teachings revealed to practitioners at the right time. His influence extends beyond Sikkim to other Himalayan regions, including Nepal and Bhutan, where he is revered as the founder of Buddhism in these lands. The Samye Monastery in Tibet, built under the patronage of King Trisong Detsen, stands as a testament to Guru Rinpoche's role in establishing Buddhism in the region.
