Wrathful Bodhisattva Vajrapani Statue | Hand-Carved Buddhist Protector from Nepal | Nepalese Art & Craft

Discover the presence of our 36-inch Masterpiece Chana Dorje Vajrapani Statue, a stunning example of Nepalese craftsmanship shaped through the ancient lost-wax technique. Its body is finished with gold fire gilding over a copper alloy, creating a glowing surface with elevated contrast, further enhanced by semi-precious stone adornments that bring the artwork to life. Each curve and contour invites appreciation, making this statue a remarkable choice for collectors and admirers of fine Himalayan art.

With seamless flow from one detail to the next, the statue reveals a beautifully carved skull crown decorated with layered patterns, linked to ornate earrings that frame Vajrapani’s fierce, protective expression. He stands firmly atop a lotus seat, holding a Vajra in one hand and a Lasso in the other, while wearing intricately sculpted flowing garments. His piercing eyes, vicious expression, and red eyebrows, mustache, and beard contrast strikingly against the gold-gilded face, where a third eye symbolizes awakened awareness. The figure’s flaming hair crowned with a vajra, tiger-skin lower garments, and serpent wrapped around the body all contribute to its dynamic, wrathful elegance. Completing the composition, a finely carved Blazing halo rises behind the lotus base, forming a powerful depiction of spiritual strength and guardian energy.

Please note: The statue in the photograph is the actual piece for sale, ensuring authenticity and exclusivity.

Vajrapani

Vajrapani, whose name means “Holder of the Thunderbolt,” is one of the earliest and most powerful bodhisattvas in Mahayana Buddhism. Vajrapāṇi is often depicted in a wrathful form, with a muscular body, fierce expression, and surrounded by flames, symbolizing his ability to destroy ignorance and obstacles on the path to enlightenment. Legends describe Vajrapāṇi as a guardian of Gautama Buddha, protecting him from harm and embodying the indomitable force of an enlightened mind. He is also known as the “Lord of Secrets” for his role in transmitting tantric teachings to humanity. His mantra, Om Vajrapāṇi Hūṃ Phaṭ, is chanted to invoke courage, dispel negativity, and cultivate inner strength.
